National – International Recognition

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was established on 1st June 1996 with the assent of His Excellency Honorable Governor of Karnataka as a full fledged University in the academic year 1996 vide Government notification no ED 1 UOV 95 dated 12th February 1996 (KSOU Act – 1992). The act was promulgated with the object to incorporate an Open University at the State level for the introduction and promotion of Open University and Distance Education systems in the education pattern of the State and for the Co-ordination and determination of standard of such systems.

With the virtue of KSOU Act of 1992, Karnataka State Open University is empowered to establish, maintain or recognize Colleges, Regional Centers and Study Centers at such places in Karnataka and may also open outside Karnataka at such places as it deems fit.

Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, has accorded recognition to Karnataka State Open University, Mysore for offering Programmes / Courses approved by the Statutory bodies of the University. Karnataka State Open University is a recognized University of Distance Education Council under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) (Revised notification F. No. DEC/OU/Recog./2008).

Karnataka State Open University is a regular member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi since 1999 (No. EV/11(80)/99/203935-4172).

Maharshi Dayanand Univesity, Rohtak, Haryana (MDU)

The Maharshi Dayanand University initially known as Rohtak University, Rohtak was established by an Act of Legislature of Haryana in 1976 with the object to promote inter-discipline higher studies and research in the field of environmental, ecological and life sciences, initially it was a unitary and residential University, however, its character was changed to an affiliating University. It was named after the great revolutionist and social reformer Maharshi Dayanand and came to be known as Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar  (PTU)

Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar was established in January 1997 for advancement of technical education & development. The University has under its affiliation 71 Engineering & Architect, 117 Management & Hotel Management and 32 Pharmacy colleges. Punjab as been one of the most prosperous state in India ever since Independence by way of green and white revolution, however, this achievement was washed over due to insufficient and affordable technical manpower and absence of innovative upgradation in technologies the industries of the State logged behind as compared to other States like Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

To address this issue of Technical Manpower shortage and to usher into a new era of Industrial Development comparable to International Standards, the Punjab Government constituted Punjab Technical University (PTU) in 1997. The University was entrusted with the responsibility of developing the new generation of technical manpower that can spearhead the industrial development of the State. Punjab Technical University has been formed to be the grooming ground for the future Engineers, Managers and Researches.

As of today, PTU affiliates about 220 Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Architecture colleges in the State that are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Maharshi Markendhswar Univesity, Ambala  (MMU)

Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana - Ambala, erstwhile known as Maharishi Markandeshwar Education Trust was founded with the objective of social, educational and economic upliftment of society in the year 1993, in the name of Lord Shiva’s devotee, “Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji”. Sikkim Manipal University

The Sikkim Manipal University of Health , Medical and Technological Sciences was established in 1995. It is the first government-private initiative in the region. The University has been established by the Singhania University, Pacheri Bari, Distt. Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) Ordinance 2007. It is a fully recognized university as per Sec. 2f of the UGC Act 1956.

Singhania University is situated at Pacheri Bari, Distt. Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) on the Delhi-Narnaul Singhana - Pilani Road. It is about 160 kms. west of Delhi and about 165 kms. north of Jaipur.
